Backstops

RINGSPANN freewheels are used as backstops in order to prevent rotational movement against the operating direction of rotation.

In high speed rotating backstops RINGSPANN uses sprags with Centrifugal Lift-Off X at the inner ring. In this operating mode the freewheel runs without friction, i.e. with limitless life

Backstop without bearing:
as an integral part for fittings to gears, electric motors, pumps, etc.
Torque range up to 350 kNm
Series:

FXM: for high torques and high speeds, external mounting
FXN: for high torques and high speeds, internal mounting
FEN, FE: for medium torques and medium speeds
FXRV,FXRT: with Torque Limiter with or without controllable Releas Facility.
BEN, BKN: low cost backstop for medium speed.


Floating backstop + bearing + torque arm:
Enclosed backstop with built-in bearings and lubrication for external moutigng to gears, belt conveyors, elevators, fans etc.
Torque range up to 68KNm
Series:

BA, BC: unit with rollers for medium speed as well as unit with sprags and Centrifugal Lift-Off X for high speeds.
FA: low cost backstop with plain bearings for low speed, RIDUVIT Long-life sprags optional (SFT)


Marland Backstops:
Low Speed - Backstops for conveyor belt installation and elevators

Torque range up to 732KNm

Series: BC/MA
