Applications:
- Securing presses during tool changing
- Positioning of winch installations and rollers
- Securing of hydraulic/pneumatic adjustments
- Securing of elevating platforms
- Securing of working cylinders, even under water
Operation:
During the working stroke of the cylinder, hydraulic or pneumatic pressure is exerted onto the connection of the unit. Through this pressure discs springs are compressed and the internal clamping discs become axially free. The piston rod can move freely. When the pressure is removed, the force of the springs works fully onto the clamping disc pack, which performs radial force onto the clamping sleeve. The sleeve is slotted and transmits the full radial force evenly onto the piston rod, thus making it absolutely immovable.
